AbstractSummary: This book is the result of a research project on the Valadier workshop. The main objective of this project was clearly defined from the outset - to provide a better understanding of the activities undertaken by this family-run workshop, which operated in Rome throughout the eighteenth and part of the nineteenth centuries. We have sought to do this by publishing a relevant set of drawings, manuscripts and pieces relating to this workshop, with the aim of bringing them to the public in general and awakening the interest of the academic community in particular. As for the large number of drawings reproduced in this book, almost all of them belong to Antichita Alberto Di Castro, we decided to provide a complete and exhaustive catalogue as part of a comprehensive approach. As far as the drawings were concerned, our primary objective was to make the specific material that we used for our study available to anyone who might be interested in it. We are mindful that the information set out in this book goes far beyond the story of the Valadiers, as this has already been the subject of attention by eminent scholars. We therefore believe that what is covered here can make a vaulable contribution to the future studies that we hope will take place following the publication of this book. .
