AbstractL’inventario dell’eredità del medico ebreo mantovano Avraham ben David Portaleone (1542-1612) contiene l’elenco della sua biblioteca comprendente più di 1100 titoli fra opere ebraiche, latine, italiane e greche, tra cui diversi trattati di autori di ordini religiosi che non ci aspetteremmo di trovare nella biblioteca di un intellettuale ebreo del XVI secolo. L’elenco consente di conoscere meglio quali erano i rapporti fra la tradizione ebraica e la cultura umanistico-filosofica nell’Italia della Controriforma. / The inventory of the legacy of Avraham ben David Portaleone (1542-1612), a Jewish physician from Mantua, contains the catalogue of his library with more than 1100 titles of Hebrew, Latin, Italian and Greek books, including a few treatises by religious authors quite unexpected for the library of a Jewish intellectual of the XVIth century. The list helps to better understand the relationship between Hebrew tradition and the humanistic culture of Counter-Reformation.
